Imon Vfd Firmware Update: Boost Your MediaPortal Experience with SoundGraph Display

If you follow the Kodi Forum post (where LCDSmartie is making it to LCD Display):1. Download LCD Smartie latest beta from 2a. If you have iMON LCD display, Download iMON display driver modified_iMON_OEM_LCD_dll.zip from =02b. If you have VFD from an Antec Fusion (with the 4-pin FDD power connector that doesn't work with iMON manager) you don't need to download the driver file (Thanks nedge2k )4. Unzip LCD Smartie wherever you want5. Unzip iMON_OEM_LCD.dll to \lcd_smartie_v5.4.2.92 Beta\displays\6. Unzip XBMC4LCDSmartie.dll and Newtonsoft.Json.dll to \lcd_smartie_v5.4.2.92 Beta\plugins\7. Copy SG_VFDU.dll from \SOUNDGRAPH\iMON\ folder to \lcd_smartie_v5.4.2.92 Beta\ and rename it to SG_VFD.dllSetting up:1. In iMON manager activate the display plugin mode and set the frontview start up to always and disable everything in automode tab. Also disable the date in clock section. I noticed that if date is displayed, the iMON manager steals the display from LCD Smartie quite often.4a. Start LCD Smartie and go to setup. In display settings click the plugin tab and if your display is LCD select iMON_OEM_LCD.4b. If you have the VFD from an Antec Fusion (with the 4-pin FDD power connector that doesn't work with iMON manager), you can use imond.dll (Thanks nedge2k )5. In screen tab select the LCD size. Modes 1x16 and 2x16 work. I prefer 1x16 because then the text has better readability from distance but if you like two lines of information then select 2x16.6. Restart LCD Smartie and adjust display contrast to desired level.7. Now you should see text in your display send by LCD Smartie.

With your new updates LCDSmartie works fine for me and for most Spanish people, whether it is a butcher the language, many young people in my country rarely used accents. Now it's all legible, and even I read the synopsis without difficulty.Again, thank you for your admirable work.

Imon Vfd Firmware Update

A hotfix for problem occured whenprogram is trying to load plugins in systems running .NETframework version 4 or with latest updates installed. Usually user getsa "No bridge function" message an the program kicks off plugin requests(for .NET based plugins). LCD Smartie team released a configurationfile to fix issue. The file is available for download from program forums and should be placed in LCD Smartie directory.

Development on LCD Smartie has resumed! A new team ofdevelopers has come together and will be releasing updated versions inthe days to come. We can hardly contain our excitement, so check backoften for bug fixes and added features.

After very long time not updatingthis site, finally there is something to say. As many of you mightallready know, I stopped coding LCD Smartie. This is not only because i just don't have time for it anymore, butalso because the code is really a mess. Smartie was my first program iwrote and therefor isn't quite the best kind of code.In example, when i first started coding I didn't use functions, andkept reading files. Later on i added some functions, and read filesinto an array. I changed content of the data files every update ofsmartie, so even that's a mess. Now i was mailed some time ago by a guy named 'Chris Lansley' who livesin the UK. He told me what many people did before: 'make smartieopensource!'.Because I didn't have any plans for the code and was accually hopelessthat i could find a programmer who accually WANTS to program newversions of smartie, i decided to make smartie opensource.A new sourceforge project has been started, and i have to say that iwon't be helping you with it, but perhaps some really smartprogrammer(s) can understand how the crappy smartie code works, and canblow some new live in it. url: I wish you all a very fun farewell

Ok, here it is. Version 5.1 I have lots of new things i'm going to introduce below. First i want tosay a few things that have changed. First of all my E-mail adres. Thatis now XXXXX@XXXXX.XXXXXX.XX. It has changed because in the lastversion of LCD Smartie (5.0) i used a default setting for the pop3email server. and checking for email was set 'enabled' by default.so i got a call from my isp a few weeks ago (about 15-7) if couldexplain why they got so many tries to connect to there mail server. Ididn't know nothing (offcourse ) and asked howmuch. So they told me it was over 150 connections a minute..... well this time i left the field blank further changes:- I have made a checkbox for all you guys with a dial up connection. Ifyou turn it off you don't check for a new version @ startup. This doesalso mean that you don't get a popup if you want to make a connection(dialup) - Fixed Gamestats (which didn't work in 5.0) - 20 screens instead of 10 - 10 pop3 email adresses instead of 1 - Upgraded Motherboard Monitor support (new version also works now) - Randomize screens feature new things: - Winamp Status - Network statistics (speeds, totals, errors and more) - Weather.com support (for people in America) - Folding@home statistics - I made a very simple skin function so you can skin for yourself. (check the 'images' directory) - Theme feature (which allowes you to make several 'theme's' which you can 'play' separatedly - Resume on next line (will cut of the text that is to long for the screen, and pastes it on the next line) - Center Text (will center the text on that line)- Events screen where you can make your own events (i.e. skip allwinamp tracks with a low bitrate, or flash your backlight 5 times whenyou have email - Full support for Matrix Orbital buttons and keypads. (Also the LK404-55) - $Counter (counts back to a specific day or time) - $dll() (support for plugins) - $Count() (Counts several, not limited, decimal values together) - $Right() (alligns a small peace of text to the right) - $Flash() (let't the text between the brackets flash) - Lots of small and big bug fixes (i.e. the shutdown bug; Thanx supressor) And again here is the full list of features Plugin support (dll): Ok, as i said above, I now have plugin support. This means you all can start writing your own plugins now. Herefor I made an example dll which you can download here. But before you download the file i would like to explain something.the dll format is very simple. It is build with 10 functions. Those arealways the same (same name) the dll can be named whatever you like. When you call the dll you call it with 2 parameters. You don't have to use both, but you do have to call them with both. If you want to use more parameters you can simply make some weird method of parsing like: '$dll(foo.dll,3,param1#param2#param3,param4#param5)'this DOES mean that you have to substract the parameters 1, 2 and 3 outof the accual parameter: 'param1'. That is something you have to do inthe dll itself. hope you all start programming right away so there will come lots of plugins If you have made a plugin, please mail it to me and i will put it on the site. Shortcuts: ok i also made shortcuts to the basic functions. it's just like winamp, activate the main screen and press the button Z = Winamp Last Track X = Winamp Play C = Winamp Pause V = Winamp Stop B = Winamp Next Track N = Backlight on/off M = Freeze screen (the screen rotation freezes, and only the active screen will be updated) , = Last Screen . = Next Screen / = Refresh all data (inet data, mbm, email, hd size, etc.) K = Last Theme L = Next Theme

After running the setup program again and installing the latest and greatest version, it proceeded to phone home and update itself to version 8.12.1202, which provides support for both Windows XP (SP2) and Windows 7 (x86, x64).

click image to enlargeSupport for this device is not 100% complete, however you can get most of the functionality by following the instructions here. You are welcome to post questions and feedback on your experience with the device there as well. lcdproc 0.5.3 appears to include the imonlcd patch set.

The Lirc project fully supports the imon device, however there are patches available for e.g. the behaviour the pad wheel. To check your distro for specific imon support, download the lirc source filesfrom your linux distribution.

Warning: 2010 - The Brakemeier patches are now included into lirc. Arguments for the kernel lirc_imon module have changed over time. Lot of info you find on the web is old and only working for the legacy driver.

We used the version of the iMon and iMedian software that shipped with the device for the first while - then an update was released. The screenshots included in this review reflect the earlier version of the software.
